Tier 3 announced for district

The Government announced this morning the tiers that each areas will go into when lockdown ends on Wednesday 02 December. The whole of Leicester and Leicestershire (including Blaby District) will be in Tier 3, the "Very High Alert" tier.

Garden Waste collections returning

We are pleased to say that our Garden Waste Service will be returning to normal from Monday 30 November.

The waste collection crew members required to self isolate as part of the national test and trace effort have all returned to work safe and well. We're delighted to have them back in our team.

Covid-19 test centre in Narborough - Now Open

A temporary Covid-19 walk-in test centre is set up on the Visitors Car Park at Blaby District Council's Offices on Desford Road in Narborough.

Managed by Department of Health and Social Care and their contractors, the centre will remain in place for six months, although this may be extended depending on local testing need.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location.

A road closure is required on Fosse Road at the crossroad junction with Frolesworth Road, Sapcote; Sharnford Road, Frolesworth and Fosse Way, Frolesworth on the 19 November 2020 for one day.

Cases update for the district

New Figures out from Leicestershire County Council have shown that the number of cases in the district stands at 294.5 per 100,000 people. This is a slight reduction from the 309.3 per 100,000 people last week, but numbers still remain higher than the current national average of 243.3.

Garden Waste suspended

We are having to suspend our garden waste collection for two weeks from Monday (16 November) due to staff shortages as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

REMEMBRANCE 2020

DUE TO THE NEW CORONOVIRUS RESTRICTIONS, OUR NORMAL REMEMBRANCE SERVICE HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

HOWEVER, WE SHALL BE LAYING WREATHS ON REMEMBRANCE DAY, WEDNESDAY THE 11TH NOVEMBER AND OBSERVING THE 2 MINUTES SILENCE AT 11 AM.
